Who or what is MIDEM?
MIDEM (Marché international de l’édition musicale) is the biggest music fair. It serves the music industry, among other things, as platform to inform about new products and/or artists. It has been held in Cannes yearly since 1966. Although its main purpose is naturally networking, but you may also enjoy different additional presentations, seminars, and concerts.
The Proud Music Library has grown again. 1,500 new tracks have been added since July 2011. Right now, there are 17,212 songs online, of which 5,449 are royalty free titles. Through the expansion of production music content, the variety in common genres increased exponentially. In numbers: 1,600 songs in the pop category, round 1,200 tracks in the rock category, or plentiful 2,160 music titles of world music. The subgenre has also gained certain attractiveness. For example, there are currently 171 Christmas songs in the program.
In the meantime, many music titles are delivered with loops and edits. In addition, the different loops and edits (15-60 seconds) are provided for the client as a zip file. Music to be proud of!

Make-A-Wish Foundation® is an organization that began in 1980 after a group of kindhearted people came together to grant the wish of a terminally ill 7-year old to become a police officer. Since then, it has grown to become not only a nationally, but also internationally acclaimed institution, with affiliates in over 36 countries.
From the beginning, the mission of the foundation has remained constant: “to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy” (www.wish.org). Whether a child’s wish is to play for the first time in the snow or to visit Disneyland, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® makes every effort to make it come true.
There are memorable stories of children meeting their favorite rock star or singer after surviving brain cancer, as was the case for 17 year old Alexx Kipp who had a chance to meet Beatle Ringo Starr, or creating a new ice cream flavor for Cold Stone Creamery, just as 11 year old Kate did, stories that Make-A-Wish Foundation® helps come true for these children thanks to the support of donors and volunteers.
Proud Music believes in the mission of the foundation and that is why it has been a proud media partner of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Deutschland e.V. since 2008. On April 29, 2011 is was World Wish Day. Help us celebrate this day to continue making possible other children’s wishes!
This video is an example of a viral video created by the advertising agency Serviceplan in Munich (Germany) for Pattex, a well-known glue produced by Henkel AG Co. & KGaA. The theme, composed and produced by Frank Herrlinger, is called “Loops of Fun”. You can find this and many other titles in the Proud Music Library.
The above is an example of what we have come to know as a viral video. Although originally, the Internet was meant to be used as a scientific tool by the Pentagon and never as the source of communication as we know it (nethistory.info), it has become not only that, but also a vehicle for entertainment, information, and marketing, among other things. In the early to mid ‘90s, viral videos were those people sent as examples of bloopers or funny animations set to known songs like that of B.J. Thomas’ “Hooked on a Feeling” in “Dancing Baby” (also featured in Ally McBeal), and their length was between 19 and 25 seconds long. Nowadays, many product and artist promotions are done through the creation of videos and are easily accessible to anyone through pages such as YouTube. One instant success that comes to mind is Susan Boyle’s appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 through the promotion of her video on that site. The Pattex advertisement video is clearly another example of the innumerable possibilities that the World Wide Web represents.
Music produced by Proud Music’s own Frank Herrlinger provides the background of this documentary on Evi Sachenbacher-Strehle. The name of the piece is “Route 1210.” Evi is a member of the German national Cross-country skiing team and is presently training for the World Cup in Oslo 2011 with Peter Schlickenrieder, himself a former Olympian. Nowadays, he appears regularly on the German Television show “ARD-Buffet” on ARD. In these videos, it is undeniable that an athlete of such caliber as Evi’s needs to train year ‘round, and you can see Evi training in the summertime with inline skates.
