The music genre Chill-out music is a collective term for calm and atmospheric music that is influenced by Ambient/Illbient or Techno music movements. Chill-out originated in the club scene at the beginning of the ‘90s when chill zones were furnished so tired dancers could relax there, while at the same time, decent electronic music with a calming effect played in the background. Since then, Soundscapes emerged as a popular subgenre of Chill-out music, and may be found in the Proud Music Library.
