Casual Games is a buzzword for simple electronic games, which are characterized by particularly easy accessibility, intuitive input methods, cooperative gameplay and quick sense of achievement. The games are particularly aimed at people who are looking for entertaining entertainment without a lengthy learning phase. Thematically they are e.g. implementations of well-known thinking and card games, but also logic games ('match 3'). In addition, there are simple action games as well as licensed games for well-known TV shows.



"Casual games" often place low demands on the hardware. They can easily be ported to mobile devices. Currently, they are also increasingly being used on stationary and mobile game consoles. This also meets the gaming needs of the target group (over 40 years old, mostly female) for entertainment without a lengthy learning phase. Both the needs and the demographics of this target group thus differ significantly from "traditional" computer gamers (mostly male, under 30 years of age), who seek a deep immersion in the most realistic game worlds possible.
