Sami Joik

04:34

The Sami, also known as Lapps, are the indegenous people of Northern Scandinavia. Hailing from northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia (the Kola Peninsula), their lives and appearance have a lot in common with Native Americans. Their music is dominated by the unique and easily recognizable Joik (or Yoik) which again lends similarities to the chanting vocal styles of Native American music. It is often accompanied by a simple hand drum beat.

Sereno

03:36

Classic Italian feel-good track. Only the trembling voice of the singer is missing, everything else is there in perfection. The wistful guitar, the laid-back groove, the supporting strings. And of course the catchy melodies.

Bidesi Saiyan

03:24

A beautiful, traditional Indian love song arranged with a mixture of Indian ethnic instruments and more modern/western elements. Sung by the highly renowned Indian thumri singer Vidya Rao who has been kind enough to work with us on this track. Thumri is a form of Indian singing which originated in the temples where the courtesans of the temples used to sing about lost love. The lyrics in this song can be summarized as a woman singing to a dear friend or lover in a far-away land, singing for him to return to where he belongs. Arranged with tabla, Indian strings and soft pads. There is also an alternative version without the vocals, and yet another version with only the vocals and soft pads, in a more "ambient" setting. Haunting and beautiful.

Relaxed, ambient piano track with occasional acoustic guitar notes and soft pads. Melancholic, tender, impressionistic, inviting. A time for quiet reflection. Semi-classical; reminescent of the works of Erik Satie and Brian Eno. Available is also an alternative version which cuts out the pads, leaving only the piano and guitar.

Keeping Hope

02:53

This track combines a simple guitar phrase with synth pads and electronic drums to create a warm, soft sounding ambient track. While great for background music, this track also has a sense of emotion and warmth which makes it versatile and appealing enough to be placed in many different projects. Mellow, dreamy and slightly wistful Subtle mellotron comes in at 0:45.

Fear of the Light

01:14

A spine-tingling, dramatic action cue with orchestral and techno elements in equal portions. Big strings and horns (live orchestra) are broken up by a synth riff and powerful rock drums. As if that wasn't enough, a choir enters towards the end with staccato chants. Hard hitting mayhem, great for film trailer, powerful action or battle scenes, combative sports, etc.

Call me now

05:01

Tenor sax takes the lead in this mellow latin jazz. Fast and energetic, the track drives forward with an up-tempo pace and allows the guitar and sax players to reach out with creative melodies to the rhythmic accompaniment.

While great for background music, this track also has a sense of emotion and warmth which makes it versatile and appealing enough to be placed in many different projects. An harmonic opening of the track with flute and harp is being taken over by bright and shining brass, playing a heroic theme. After this glorious opening the track falls back to a calm background track, enough space for a narrator to begin with his story...
