Minimal Techno music is a subgenre of Techno. It is characterized by a stripped-down aesthetic of the “acknowledged preservation of basics.” Minimal Techno has its roots probably in the early ‘90s, in the Techno scene of the American city of Detroit. A particularly fast variation of Minimal Techno is Gabber. Because the Minimal Techno music stands out through rough sounds (drums, bass lines and funky grooves), this facet of Gabber’s is lost.
