Swing

Swing music –or simply swing- is a music style that developed in the early 1930s. The rhythm section of bass and drums serve as “anchor” for wind instruments such as trumpets and trombones, and woodwind instruments such as saxophone and clarinets. Once and again, violins and guitars resurface in the arrangements. Swing means momentum, and it originated from the phrase “swing feeling”, because the main emphasis of the rhythm is on the second and fourth beats (off beat), which represent the weaker/lighter impulses in the metrics (for example, in classical music). Swing bands usually introduced soloists, like Benny Goodman, one of the most popular band leaders, who improvised with the melody. Between 1935 and 1946 (also known as the swing era), swing music reached its high point and was the favorite kind of music in the U.S. Boosted by the swing trend, other newer jazz styles were created. Some examples are cool jazz and Latin jazz.

Casino Funk

03:08

Classic 1960's, 1970's style funk-rock with a slick, modern sound. Funky bass line, Hammond organ. Fun and excitement, casinos and gambling, game shows, showtime. Jazzy and upbeat, exciting, Las Vegas. A little bit mischievous, cheeky. Takes on a more bluesy rock feel towards the end, with a blues guitar.

Paris St Germain

01:35

A Hot Club of France style jazzy piece where the first 30 seconds are in jazzy ballad style, and then the tempo picks up with acoustic riffing on the 8ths. Charming, warm and irresistable. The underscore and the shorter versions omit the ballad opening and go straight to the main part.
