An exotic, haunting Indian vocal track sung for us by highly renowned Indian female singer Vidya Rao, whom we feel privileged to have worked with on this track. Her sorrowful singing/chanting in the alaap is as atmospheric as it is emotional, and is accompanied by a clean jazz guitar, joined by jazzy drums and bass at around 1 min 45 secs. Alaap literally means introduction and it is traditionally used by an Indian singer who goes through many permutations in the notes of a raag finally resting on the tonic and then nods at the tabla player to set the rhythm. A smooth blend of the traditional and the modern, of the East and the West. Great for use in travel and adventure, chill-out and exotic moods.
A two-beat jazz tune with a bit of bluegrass and celtic stylings featuring banjo, acoustic bass, ukulele, acoustic guitar and tin whistle.
Almost entirely percussion driven track. Upbeat african rhythms with multiple drums. A subtle underlying bass line, influenced by trance music. Occasional African flutes. Inspired by the sound of Safri Duo.
An epic, grand sounding track with a slight Greek, Oriental, Eastern or "Ancient World" feel. Ethnic, exotic, and dangerous. The first 45 seconds or so are rather pensive, before it builds up into a grand, sweeping, majestic and exciting piece. Good for dramatic trailers, dramatic scenes, grand, wide open spaces of Arabia, Egypt or ancient Greek etc. Picture ancient warriors on the warpath, or a dangerous situation building...
Groovy, world folk melodic piece. Played by acoustic guitars, bass, drums, shaker. I had a picture in mind while composing - Russian villages, long road, lonely horse carrying a cart through a snowy woods.
Imagine sitting atop a magically scenic mountain in Tibet or Nepal, watching the native life go wandering by. Soft, dreamy, cinematic, hypnotic, tranquil, peaceful, enchanted track with a distinct Oriental flavour. Would suit travel/documentary/buddhist/ dramatic/geographical film type projects.
