Ciprian Porumbescu 1853-1883) war ein rumänischer Komponist. Er studierte unter anderem am Konservatorium der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien, wo er auch Anton Bruckner kennenlernte. Danach war er als Kapellmeister in Bukarest tätig. Die frühere rumänische Nationalhymne „Trei culori“ stammte aus seiner Feder. Er starb bereits mit 29 Jahren an Tuberkulose.
